ممکن است باعث شگقتی شود که تشکيلات خلافت اسلامی (داعش سابق) حتی برای سرنگونی
بشار اسد تلاش هم نکرد. همين چند ماه پيش بود که آنها در اتحاد با سعودی و قطر
ظاهرا بر ضد شیعیان و ایران، به همراه اخوان المسلمین، برای تسخیر سوریه تشکیلاتی
ساختند. اما چه شد؟ سعودی از ارتش مصر در سرنگونی اخوان المسلمین حمایت کرد. داعش
هم تغییر مسیر داده و بسوی جنوب حمله ور شده و در موصل اعلام خلافت کرد.
شاید خلافت اسلامی هرگز نمی خواست سوریه را تصرف کند چرا که در آنصورت با اسرائیل هم مرز می شد و باید یا با اسرائیل وارد جنگ می شد و یا آنکه اعتبار خود را از دست می داد. موضع داعش در مورد غزه به خوبی این را نشان می دهد (1).
هدف خلافت اسلامی تسخیر عربستان سعودی و شیخ نشین های خلیج فارس است. آنها نمی خواهند که تجربه طالبان در افغانستان را تکرار کنند. آنها می خواهند که دولت اسلامی ثروتمندی نظیر ایران با کنترل نفت، تشکیل دهند. در واقع بسیاری از بنیانگذاران جمهوری اسلامی ایران نیز گرچه شیعه هستند، ولیکن از هواداران اخوان المسلمین بودند. با سقوط اخوان المسلمین در مصر، داعش وارث برنامه ها و هواداران آن تشکیلات در خاورمیانه می شود.
همه تبلیغات ضد شیعه خلافت اسلامی برای متحد کردن جنگجویان سنی مذهب به دور تشکیلات خود است، اما هدف واقعی داعش تسخیر عربستان سعودی است. آنها وارد اتحاد ضد اسد با سعودی و قطر شدند تا بعدا به آنها حمله کنند، همانگونه که القاعده وارد اتحاد با آمریکا علیه شوروی در افغانستان شد تا بعدا تفنگهای خود را بسوی مرکز تجارت در آمریکا نشانه رود (2).

One may wonder why ISC (IS Caliphate), formerly ISIS, did not even try to
overthrow Bashar al-Assad. It was not long ago when they formed an alliance with
Saudi and Qatar, supposedly in opposition to Shiites and Iran, together with
Muslim Brotherhood, to conquer Syria. But what happened? They changed course and
pushed south to Mosul to form ISC (IS Caliphate). And Saudi backed the rise of
army and overthrow of Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.
Perhaps ISC never wanted to conquer Syria because that way they would end up bordering Israel and would either have to fight Israel or lose their credibility. ISC's position regarding Gaza clearly showed it too (1).
ISC's goal is to conquer Saudi Arabia and Persian Gulf kingdoms. They do not want to repeat the experience of Afghanistan's Taliban. They want to be a rich Islamic state controlling oil reserves like Iran. Actually many of the founders of Iran' Islamic Republic, although Shiite, were also followers of Muslim Brotherhood. With the fall of Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, ISC is inheriting their mandate and supporters in the Middle East.
All the ISC anti-Shiite propaganda is to unite Sunni militants around its organization, but their real goal is to take over Saudi Arabia. They entered the anti-Assad alliance with Saudi and Qatar to attack them later, the same way al-Qaeda was in alliance with the US against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan but later turned their guns against the USA in WTC (2).
